oh christmas tree

Christmas decorations in my house seem to be different every year, there's always new colors; some years they're red, others they're blue and silver, but this year my mother decided on green!
Our tree looks fantastic as always, no thanks to me of course I was going to decorate the downstairs tree, but I think my mom realized what it might look like after I was done with it, so she decided to just go ahead and do it herself, which was probably smart. One christmas I tried to put a barbie ornament on the tree and every time I wasn't looking either my sister Abby or my mom were moving it to the back where no one could see it. So I guess you could say christmas decorating isn't my thing? Yes indeed you could say that!

Lucky for everyone we have such an amazing interior decorator living at home!:)

My Buddy :)

What a cute family hey? This my friends is the Hardy family, they are so adorable. I mostly wanted to recognize the gorgeous woman in the far right corner, her name is Tanis. I have been lucky enough to have her as a buddy and let me tell you I don't think there is any buddy better than her! She has done so much for me, and I am so grateful for her example. Every time I see her I can always count on her having a huge smile on her face. She is an amazing mother, and she's had four kids, I hope I'll look half that good when I have one! She is such a kind and sincere soul, these pictures are from the summer, unfortunately I am a terrible procrastinator. I hope she enjoys a few of the ones I wanted to share with everyone :).

Thank you for everything you are, and for everything you've done for me! I hope we'll be able to take another trip to Waterton some day and catch up. You're the best! :)

Smiling: it burns calories!

So much has been going on in my life lately! I've found myself attracted to a ginger? I've made the varsity basketball team, I've spent almost every weekend in Magrath, I've realized that I CANNOT stand scary movies, I've realized who my true friends are, and I've decided that I'm one of the worst bloggers there is haha.

Last night I read my journal and my last entry had been from August 31, sad huh? So I've decided that when I die no one will know anything about me.

These last few months or so have been some of the best times I've had. Sidney, Shak, Sarah, BP and I all ventured to Barnwell along with our Magrath friends and partied it up at the whiteout party! Words cannot describe how fun it was! The next weekend we were off to the hurricanes game, and yes they did win :).

I just wanted to write a few things about them so everyone else can know how great they are :)

Sarbear: What can I say about you? Other than you named your journal after me haha. People say we look like twins but they are incredibly wrong because how could they get me confused with you when your eyes and eyelashes pop everytime you walk into a room! We've been friends since elementary and I'm so glad we still are! I've had a blast playing vball with you this year and I hope that nothing changes after the season is finished! :)

Sid: Well for starters your skills at every sport there is are sick! I love being on the floor with you, we always know exactly what each other are thinking. We've become such good friends this year and I very much enjoy it. I love love LOVE your permed hair, it's adorable. I can't wait for bball season to start so that we can ball it up together once again, love you sid! :)

BP: We've seriously got so much in common, it's ridiculous! For one, our names rhyme, for two we both love turkey bacon subs haha, and for three, we love being with each other, the list goes on and on! I don't have a single memory from the summer that doesn't have you in it! I wish we could have had Chem 20 together this year, but we've made it work. I loved being able to sit next to my best friend on the tube at echo, knowing that if I died you'd be right next to me. BP, I'm so glad we're such good friends and I know nothing will ever change that! :)

Shak: Let's be honest we weren't the best of friends during the summer, but volleyball has definitely changed that! I love how we both do jump floats, I love that you're five races in one! I love how curly your hair is and that it takes you forever to straighten it! You are SICK at volleyball, I've very much enjoyed playing the season with you. I know this year will blow by and I can't help but regret us not spending more time together! You can always make me laugh no matter what! Seriously shak you're one of my best friends, and I've loved every minute of being with you! :)

I can't help but smile whenever I'm around all of my friends. We've all become so close and have found ourselves to be inseparable. We see each other everyday and we can always tell if there is something wrong. We've got each other's backs no matter what, and we always look forward to our weekends together. Whether it be creeping through the weeds into a haunted Hutterite house, (or staying in the car) or sitting together at lunch time and discussing anything that comes to our heads. I can't help but wonder what our next adventure together will be, but it doesn't matter what we do I know that as long as we're together I'll always have a smile :)

Grandpa Ady

October 14th 2010, we had family arrive from all over, I had cousins come from Rosevelt, Utah that I hadn't seen in years, It was so nice of them to come! It truly was one of the coolest things I have ever witnessed!
We woke up that morning and headed for lethbridge, my grandparents didn't know that all of the cousins were in Canada, they thought that my grandpa was just having a retirement dinner, while we were driving we figured out that my grandpa and grandma were one vehicle in front of us! We panicked and pulled over, they were going 80km/h because they thought they were early. Anyways we all showed up and surprised him he still had no idea what was going on, the premier got up and spoke in honor of my grandpa, then announced the real reason we had all arrived; the Cancer centre in the lethbridge hospital was being named after My grandpa, Jack Ady. Both him and my grandma had no idea, but what everyone was most surprised by was that we were able to surprise the both him and my grandma! It was a day I'll never forget.

His reaction.

My Grandparents standing in front of the Cancer centre.

He got this courtyard built for all the patients.

This machine is for radiation, it costed 1.5 million. The whole room in total costed 5 million.

volleyball season

This year I was lucky enough to make the senior volleyball team, I've had a blast so far! We lost to Raymond which definitely shouldn't have happened, but don't worry we beat them later on. We lost to Coaldale who surprisingly was better than we expected! Last tuesday we traveled to Winston Churchill and we beat them three straight! It felt so good, it also felt good when we didn't have to run the next day in practice... So anyways here's a little display of what went down at our last game. So far we've had two tournaments our last one didn't go all that well, but the one we previously had went very well. We got third and lost to an amazing team in the semis it was close, but in the end they went on the the final. This weekend I have a tourney at the new school on the west side, Chinook I'm soo looking forward to it!
I promise that that's not hair...it cotton from the bandage.

I love Sarbear! I love being on the same team with her! She's always laughing and trying to pump everyone up! :)

Time flies...

I wrote this post late, but I still thought it would be important to include. This year I am in grade 11 at the Cardston High School. And all I can say is so far, so good. Lately I've been trying to avoid the cliche lines, but yet I still find that they seem to end up on here anyways, so bear with me.

This semester has started, and I feel so over loaded with homework and volleyball, that I can't help but think how hard it'll be to play basketball for another six months with this kind of work load. My goal this year is to keep my grade average...higher than last year. My mother used to take pictures of us on our first day of school, but since I have been the one behind the camera lately I think she's given up. So instead of a nice picture on a camera I just took a few before I left on photo booth.
This year has already been so much fun, with all the football games, tournaments, and just being with friends I couldn't have asked for a better start. I know the year will fly by and in a way, I'm looking forward to it and in another I'm not. A year from now I'll be in my senior year, that scares me. I can't believe how old I've gotten! Time sure flies...

learn to live

I haven't done a post in so long because I couldn't think of anything special to write about, so I got thinking and realized that this blog is called "Just Hales" so why not write about everything that's on my mind, or has been for the last little while.

So much has happened in the past couple weeks; I rode a Ferris Wheel for my first time, made new friends,  started grade 11, made the senior volleyball team, beat raymond in volleyball, became reunited with friends from school, realized so many things about someone in particular that hurt, but ended up being for the best. Moved home, got my driver's license, turned 16, helped my best friend win Vice, lost my tan, my brother moved out, and I grasped onto the fact that summer was indeed over.

All of these things happened for a reason, and every single one of them has benefited me in one way or another. I can't go back on what happened, and even if I could I don't think I'd change a thing. I wasn't sure what kind of pictures could go with a post like this, so I decided just to choose a few of my favorites.

Looove you girls! :)

No matter what some people may say...we'll always be best friends! <3

I'll miss them dearly..

This stunning Asian my friends would be Juhee Thompson, she's unbelievably good at basketball and rugby, I loved being able to play on the same basketball team as her and I was so glad when she asked me to do a photo shoot! So these are just a couple of the gorgeous pictures she produced! :)

Dani Dani Dani! So freakin gorgeous all the time! Seriously every time I see you, you look like you've stepped out of a magazine! You have the funniest personality ever, and may I add the funniest laugh I've ever heard! You always know how to make everyone laugh and I know you're going to dominate this year at the University :)

I had so much fun doing this shoot! Good luck in school girls! I'm gonna miss you so much!
