I'll miss them dearly..

This stunning Asian my friends would be Juhee Thompson, she's unbelievably good at basketball and rugby, I loved being able to play on the same basketball team as her and I was so glad when she asked me to do a photo shoot! So these are just a couple of the gorgeous pictures she produced! :)

Dani Dani Dani! So freakin gorgeous all the time! Seriously every time I see you, you look like you've stepped out of a magazine! You have the funniest personality ever, and may I add the funniest laugh I've ever heard! You always know how to make everyone laugh and I know you're going to dominate this year at the University :)

Dear Bailey, I love you so much! I could not think of a better best friend to have. You're always so cute and full of energy and I can't help but always be happy and smile when I'm around you. This summer has been so much fun and I'm so glad we were able to be together everyday! I know I always mock you about how short you are, but it's just out of love :) I hope that we will keep growing as friends and we'll never forget the summer we spent together making sandwiches, watching friends, the real housewives of O.C., photo shoots, our trip to Calgary, laughing until we cry, watching chick flicks and crying, going to Magrath, making terrible tasting pasta, playing scum at Echo, almost dying on the tube, going down one-way streets in Calgary, those black squirrels, making spaghetti, going to night church, making each other's "perfect" sandwich, ambushing Maddie from the fridge and having a water fight with squirt bottles, going to Jack Astor's haha, and spending every minute together! BP I hope we'll always be friends! :)

My Temporary Home

Day one: Countless hours of grocery shopping, which further lead to amazing meals, so no complaints mom.... the weather wasn't that great but it was definitely nice enough to get in the water. Later that night Abby and Steve (sister, and brother-in-law) showed up and we played a little rook and watched a little Modern Family.

Day two: Sunday, church in Bigfork, which I always enjoy, of course my mom goes all out and cooks a turkey dinner, which was amazing! We again play a little rook and watch some more Modern Family, we can never get enough.

Day three: the sun was shining and we knew it was going to be a beautiful day. We spent pretty much the whole day down at the beach catching a few rays, reading, and relaxing, but also something happened that we never thought could; Abby got up on one ski! But she wasn't the only one, I did and so did my sister Cassie, then later on Steve wake-boarded, which I so envy him for. Although we don't have the best wake-boarding boat, he was still able to get more air then I ever could. One of the reasons I was so excited to come to Echo was that my best friend was going to be staying right next door to me, Bailey Powelson, what would I do without her? I could go on and on, anyways.... so we went tubing with her younger sister Maddie, and at first we thought that the tube ride was a little lame, no offense Dad haha, but just when we thought we were going back in we hit a huge wave and according to Cassie, we got some SERIOUS air! Sadly no picture but it ended up being a very fun ride! And right now we're doing what we do every night, play a little rook, then watch some more Modern Family. I just love being here :)

So when a skier goes down you're supposed to hold up a red flag, we don't have a red flag and were too cheap to pay the 50 cents for one, so my Grandma thought a place mat tied to a stick would do the job, this is me...not too impressed.

relax take it easy

Tomorrow is the day I've been waiting for Echo Lake! I know everyone around me who knew I was going just wanted me gone because they were sick of me going on about my excitement! But honestly there is nowhere else I'd rather be, and an even bigger bonus every member of my immediate family is going to be able to spend a couple of days together, what more could I ask for? Some people just don't get why I enjoy it so much, and honestly neither do I, all I know is that I can leave everything behind and just "relax and take it easy". My summer would never be complete without at least one week at the lake. It's been a tradition in our family for years, and every year I act like a five-year-old on Christmas when we drive up to the cabin. I wish there was some way I could capture the scent in a jar and always be able to have it. Of course with the cabin we always have the same memories, play rook late at night with peanut M&M's, read a few books each, go to the swimming hole, go to Bigfork ward, and of course I always tell them it's my birthday, seriously try it sometime haha, also big meals on the front porch every morning and night, the bell being rung to call us in for dinner, the moths in the guest house and never wanting to sleep in there, showering in the lake, bonfires, pedicures, my cousins swimming with socks on, sunburns, suntans, going through bottles of aloe vera, tubing, wiping out on wakeboards, double skiing, the secret lake that everyone knows about, parasailing, stealing internet from the neighbours, and fifteen people all trying to get ready for church in one bathroom. Some may think these things don't sound appealing, but that's what makes them so unique special to me, because I cherish every moment of it, and I couldn't think of a better summer vacation, and I wouldn't trade our cabin for anything.

Happy Birthday Dad

Today I'd like to make a tribute to someone so special and important in my life. This person is such an outstanding example to me. I look up to him for everything, whether it be sports, school, or just problems that I need help solving; I always know I can count on him. Let me tell you all a little bit about this person; his name is Eric Dean Brooks, and he was born in Cardston, AB. He was the youngest of six children. He enjoys sports, obsessing over little facts, googling things, watching the food network, getting over intense at Cardston basketball games, helping others, and spending quality time with his family. Today is his Birthday, we won't say how old he is, but I will tell you that he turned the big "over the hill" last year :). My Dad helps me more than he, or anyone else could ever know. My dad always tells me to remember who I am whenever I am in tough situations, and recently I couldn't have used a better motto. He always knows what's best for me and my family, he is such a selfless and kind individual, and I am so proud to have him as my dad.

I love you Dad, and I hope you have a great Birthday!

summer in waterton

This summer I've been lucky enough to work in Waterton National Park, I seriously couldn't have asked for a more beautiful place to live! What I love most about it is the people I associate with; my room mates or course, but also the people who come over every night at 11:30pm and stay until 2:30am. These are the people that I will always remember from summer 2010.
